Ho Wah Genting Berhad ("HWGB") was incorporated in Malaysia on 12 August 1993 under the Companies Act, 1965 as a public limited company. On 28 December 1994, HWGB was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("BMSB") and thereafter transferred to the Main Board of BMSB (currently known as Main Market of BMSB) on 2 November 2000.
The principal activities of HWGB are investment holding and the provision of management services. The principal activities of its subsidiary and associated companies, amongst others, are as follow:-
- Manufacturing and trading of wires and cables, moulded power supply cord sets and cable assemblies for electrical and electronic devices and equipment;
- Tin mining;
- Planning, implementation, supervision and commissioning of projects relating to Green Technology products and services; and
- Travel agency and provision of tour coach chartering services and promotion of "Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)" programme under the Ministry of Tourism.
